In an article appearing in the July 3, 2013, edition of the National Journal, Sioux Falls Mayor Mike Huether had the opportunity to promote the City’s many features that make it a great place to live and work. National Journal is an American weekly magazine aimed at Washington, D.C., insiders that reports on political and policy trends.
In the article, “Is Sioux Falls, S.D., the Next Boom Town?” Mayor Huether cited the various legs of the “economic development stool” that contribute to the city’s continued growth. He attributed Sioux Falls’ low unemployment rate and continued economic expansion to a number of economic drivers, including health care and related research, banking, agriculture, retail, and tourism. Mayor Huether also discussed the challenges related to economic success, including managing growth and maintaining work force availability.
