On December 20, the attorneys of Davenport Evans were presented with a plaque recognizing the firm’s 78 years of membership in the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce by President and CEO Jason Ball.

Founded in 1907, the Sioux Falls Chamber has been a vital part of the business community longer than almost any business still in operation in the city. When Holton Davenport and Ellsworth Evans formed what would become one of the region’s oldest and largest law firms, back in 1939, making their firm a Chamber member was one of the first orders of business.

With the addition of Louis Hurwitz and Deming Smith, the firm grew to become a leader in both litigation and commercial law. The founders’ vision of a law firm based on integrity, expertise, and a tireless commitment to client success was reinforced by the advocacy and economic development of the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce. Today’s Sioux Falls Chamber boasts over 2,200 members and a wide variety of programs and services, including Leadership Sioux Falls, from which several Davenport Evans lawyers are graduates, Forward Sioux Falls, and the Young Professionals Network (YPN) engaging professionals age 21-39.

Davenport, Evans, Hurwitz & Smith, LLP, located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, is one of the State’s largest law firms.
