Trevor D. Case attends the University of South Dakota Knudson School of Law and just completed his 2L year. Trevor serves as the Symposium Editor for Volume 69 of the South Dakota Law Review at USD and as a research assistant at the USD McKusick Law Library. Originally from Webster, SD, Trevor earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Economics and minors in Land Valuation and Rural Real Estate, Economics, and Agricultural Business from South Dakota State University. In his free time, Trevor enjoys hunting, exercising, and spending time with family and friends.

Tony O. Metzgar attends the University of South Dakota Knudson School of Law and just completed his 2L year. Tony serves as Editor-in-Chief of South Dakota Law Review and as a graduate assistant to AJ Franken, the university’s general counsel. Originally from Elk Point, SD, Tony earned his bachelor’s degree in history and in music from Augustana University. He then earned a Master of Education degree from the University of Notre Dame and taught social studies for five years before starting law school. Tony is a member of the South Dakota Army National Guard field artillery regiment in Yankton, SD. In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors, sports, chess, and quality time with friends and family.

Preston J. Tetzlaff attends the University of Nebraska College of Law where he is completing the Business Transactions Program of Concentrated Study and just completed his 2L year. Preston earned his bachelor’s of science degree in Business Economics along with a minor in Banking and Financial Services from South Dakota State University. This past spring, he was a regional competitor in the National Client Counseling Competition. During his 3L year, Preston will participate on the Board of the University of Nebraska Foundation as part of the Non-Profit Board Externship Program at UNL and will also be a part of the Entrepreneurship Clinic at the law school. In his free time, Preston enjoys hunting and spending time outdoors.

Nicholas R. Walter attends the University of Baylor School of Law and just completed his 2L year. During his time at Baylor, Nicholas has served as an Associate Editor of Baylor’s Law Review, a brief writer for his moot court team, and a research assistant for one of his professors. Originally from Sioux Falls, Nicholas earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy after studying for three years at the University of South Dakota. In his free time, Nicholas enjoys exercising, playing basketball, and spending time with his family.

Davenport Evans seeks to provide summer associates a broad range of legal experience. Each summer associate works with supervising attorneys from the law firm’s litigation and business sections to help provide a realistic glimpse into the practice of law. Summer associates conduct research, draft substantive legal documents, and accompany attorneys on a variety of legal matters.
