Davenport Evans lawyers Kristi Geisler Holm and Justin T. Clarke spoke before over 400 professionals working in the workers’ compensation industry at the June 22-23, 2016 South Dakota Workers’ Compensation Summit. The annual conference brought together case workers, claims examiners, insurance agents, safety and human resource professionals, employers, physicians, and other medical providers for industry-specific speakers, knowledgeable vendors, and networking. The Summit offered continuing education credits for Nurse Case Managers, South Dakota Insurance Agents, Nursing Home Administrators, and Human Resources/SHRM Professionals.
Holm’s and Clarke’s presentation opened day-one of the conference, covering recent case law and a legislative update, pertaining to workers’ compensation. From 4-7 p.m., Holm and Clarke were joined by Davenport Evans lawyer Rick W. Orr in the firm’s booth at the Summit’s Social and Exhibit time, visiting personally with participants and sharing a tower of handmade chocolates from Sugar’s Bakery and Sweet Treats. The attorneys were pleased to meet new attendees to the conference from as far away as Florida, Colorado, and Wisconsin, and to visit with clients and friends old and new in the Workers’ Compensation industry.
