Sydney Boots is a civil litigation attorney at Davenport Evans, representing clients in disputes involving contracts, personal injury and wrongful death, property and zoning, insurance, and workers’ compensation. He is licensed to practice in state and federal courts in South Dakota.

Sydney was born in Sioux Falls and spent the remainder of his childhood in Yankton, graduating from Yankton High School. He earned his B.A. from the University of Sioux Falls and his J.D. from the University of South Dakota Knudson School of Law.

During law school, Sydney served as vice president of the Moot Court Board, president of the R.D. Hurd Pro Bono Society, an admissions ambassador, and a mentor to first-year students. He interned at East River Legal Services and the Minnehaha County Public Defender’s Office.

Sydney clerked for the Second Judicial Circuit Court of South Dakota before joining the firm. He supported twelve trial judges through legal research, drafting decisions, and assisting with hearings and trials.

Outside of work, Sydney cherishes time with his wife, their family and friends, and their cat, Clea. He maintains an active lifestyle and enjoys watching sports and the arts. Sydney continues his life-long involvement in choral music singing with the Cathedral of St. Joseph choir.
