Olivia Karns is a South Dakota corporate and business lawyer at Davenport Evans. Her practice at Davenport Evans includes corporate and business law, banking and financial services, and e-commerce, internet and cyber law.
A native of Fairbanks, Alaska, Olivia joined the firm in 2018. She received her bachelor of arts degree from Gustavus Adolphus College and her law degree from the University of Iowa Law School. While at the University of Iowa, Olivia was a member of Iowa’s Moot Court Board and traveling team, the Administrative Editor on the Journal of Corporation Law, and research assistant to Professor Herbert Hovenkamp. Prior to Law School, Olivia was staff to one of Alaska’s Senators in Washington, D.C. and to the Minnesota House of Representatives in St. Paul.
Outside of work, Olivia serves on the Board of Directors for the Eastern South Dakota Chapter of the America Red Cross. She likes to spend her time camping, hiking, fishing and rushing out to ski when the snow is good! She is also enjoying living in Sioux Falls, where her husband grew up, and spending time with friends and family.
