My Story
A South Dakota native, Kalen joined the firm in 2017 after practicing for a number of years in Wyoming. Kalen is as a member of the Transactions and General Business practice group, and also practices with the Trusts and Estates group, holding a Master’s Degree in Taxation from New York University School of Law.
Kalen works with business clients on a variety of matters, including those concerning initial structuring and restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, strategic joint ventures, succession planning, and key-person compensation matters. He also assists various tax-exempt entities, including 501(c)(3) organizations and private foundations, regarding governance and operations. He is a member of the American Bar Association, South Dakota Bar Association, Wyoming Bar Association, and North Dakota Bar Association.
Kalen was selected to the Best Lawyers®: Ones to Watch from 2022 to 2025 in the areas of Business Organizations (including LLCs and Partnerships), Mergers and Acquisitions Law, and Tax Law.
