My Story
Vince Roche is a South Dakota Commercial Litigation attorney at Davenport Evans. Vince focuses his practice on commercial litigation, primarily trusts and estates litigation, undue influence proceedings, business litigation, and defending financial institutions. He also has substantial experience representing clients in arbitration and mediation matters arising out of commercial disputes. Prior to joining the firm in 2008, Vince practiced for five years in Chicago with Kirkland & Ellis LLP and Novack & Macey LLP.
Vince has successfully defended a number of lawsuits alleging breach of fiduciary duty and related claims against the trustees of large, multi-generational trusts sitused in South Dakota to take advantage of its favorable trust climate. He has also represented multiple firm clients in complex business disputes in state, federal and appellate courts around the country.
Vince has received an AV Preeminent® Peer Review Rating by Martindale-Hubbell®, for the highest level of professional excellence in legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards. In addition, Vince was ranked in the top 5% of practicing attorneys in South Dakota by Great Plains Super Lawyers in the area of business litigation and is listed by Best Lawyers® in Litigation – Trusts & Estates.
In his spare time, Vince enjoys the outdoors, spending time with his wife, Andrea, and their three sons and coaching his kids’ youth sports teams. He is a Vermillion, SD, native and a graduate of Augustana University and the University of Virginia School of Law.
