Davenport Evans donates “fun socks” and Happy Meals for back-to-school kick-off
On September 9, Davenport Evans lawyers contributed two items from the Bowden Youth Center wish list for a back to school kick-off party. Joan Neilan, Director of Outreach and Community Services for Volunteers of America, Dakotas, told the firm that kids at the Bowden Youth Center benefit from programs that provide everyday nutritious meals, clothing, housing or other basic needs. However, they often miss out on what other kids take for granted, simple joys of childhood such as going out to eat. She and the staff working with the kids suggested a back-to-school party, offering a rare treat for Bowden Youth Center kids- 75 McDonald’s Happy Meals. In keeping with the back-to-school kick-off theme, Davenport Evans also provided 75 pairs of fun socks to help each child start the year on the right foot.
