Ashley Blake, South Dakota Trusts and Estates Attorney
Ashley Blake is a South Dakota trusts and estates attorney at Davenport Evans. Ashley joined the firm as an associate in the estate planning and trust administration, trust companies, business, employment, and cyberlaw sections in 2016 after interning with the firm during the summer of 2015. Ashley’s practice focuses on helping families with estate and wealth planning matters including creating and modifying trusts, wills, powers of attorney, guardianships and conservatorships, premarital and antenuptial agreements. Ashley’s practice also focuses on assisting in the creation and compliance of trust companies under South Dakota law and assisting with trust administration issues.
A native of Sioux Falls, Ashley graduated from University of South Dakota Law School with Sterling Honors, ranked first in her class. Prior to law school, Ashley graduated with honors and a dual-major from Harvard University. During her time in law school, Ashley received an unprecedented 23 Dean’s Certificates for Outstanding Performance/CALI Awards for the top grade of any student in her classes. Ashley was also the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships, including the prestigious Gavel Award and Everett Bogue Scholarship. She served as the Lead Articles Editor on her school’s law review, was a graduate assistant for Professor Frank Pommersheim and Dean Tiffany Graham, and founded and served as president of the Internet and Cyber Law Society organization at her law school. Prior to law school, Ashley spent a few years abroad including time working at several prestigious law firms in Australia.
In her free time, Ashley enjoys running, hiking, playing board games, and spending time with her husband and dog.
